The right to an appeal is an important part of the judicial system. If one or more parties believe errors were made in the initial trial, a system is in place to review those errors. I assist clients in presenting their appeal to the court. For over 32 years, I have been committed to helping my clients obtain the results they deserve. If you are involved in an appeal, or believe that a court's initial determination was incorrect, contact me, Dan G. Ryan Esq., Attorney and Mediator, to schedule a free 1/2 hour initial consultation.
An appeal matter requires careful research and the ability to follow the specific rules and requirements of the appeals process. Writing appellate briefs and delivering oral arguments in a court of appeal are particular skills that not every lawyer chooses to develop. I have handled over 20 appeals in my career, including two published cases. My experience in appellate law allows me to honestly advise my clients about their chances for success and about what to expect from the process.
Appellate courts are designed to correct errors, not to review and challenge the underlying facts of the case. An experienced appellate attorney can help you determine whether the judgment of the trial court can be appealed successfully. The process is complex and is very different from the process involved in the original trial.
